Francis Maude: Nice People Take Drugs

This card is one of a deck produced by Release to highlight politicians’ hypocrisy towards drug use.
Maude admitted trying cannabis "a few times" while he was a student. "This isn't a big story - it was when I was a student 25 years or so ago," the Conservative Politician.
Maude has always voted against any liberalisation of the drug laws. If he had been arrested for his drug use he probably would have not been able to practise as a barrister and would have probably never had the opportunity to stand for parliament, opportunities that he is happy to deny to young people for actions similar to his own.
