Crystal Meth

The People’s Cartel

The recent death of Kim Jong-Il, supreme leader of North Korea, came as a surprise to many. He had ruled North Korea with an iron fist since 1994 and had exerted almost complete control over all aspects of citizens’ lives.

On AIDS, stigma and drugs

I was educated to think that AIDS was God’s punishment for those who dared living against his rules. No matter how much I tried to convince my teachers or even my fellow students that no kind of God could conceive such a cruel mechanism of revenge for innocent people I continuously failed in my mission. The extremely conservative dogma of the Opus Dei was creating a difference between those holy people who would never be infected for being worshipers and those who were perceived as condemned by their strict sense of hypocritical morality.

Survival sex amongst homeless American teenagers

See video

The phenomenon of homelessness among American children and teenagers is strictly linked, according to this brief documentary, to begging, to the use of drugs, in particular crystal-meth, and to ‘survival sex’. Survival sex is one of the means for homeless teenagers and children to survive on a daily basis. A statistic says that a child will resort to survival sex within 48 hours of becoming homeless, the documentary reports. On top of this, taking drugs becomes a way for them to stay up all night without having to find a place to sleep.

Lethal combinations of sex drugs and alcohol

Alcohol and drugs are factors leading to risky sex. The most common consequences are usually, unintended pregnancy in the case of women, sexually transmitted infections, sexual violence and other adverse outcomes. Drinking and taking drugs in sexual situations are mostly aimed at sensation seeking and pleasure stimulation. For this reason it is not strange that having sex without a condom or having numerous sex partners become a priority for those looking for new experiences.

People in the walls

I am a 25-year-old Australian. I have used meth since 19. Only ever shot it up, no normal pattern of snort, smoke then shoot, but from my experiences here in Melbourne, shooting up is the only way to use.

Quicksand

Four years ago, I stopped doing one of the dumbest things I ever did in my life: crystal meth. Four weeks ago, I did one of the dumbest things I ever did in my life: crystal meth. Why did I do it? Why did I stop? Why did I do it again? The answer is probably the same for all the questions. Whether it's a rationalisation, a reason, an excuse, or an explanation, the fact is that I did it and I can no longer say I've been sober for four years or that I'm a former addict.

The night that won't end

Let me start by saying that I have had experiences with nearly every kind of drug used recreationally in America these days. LSD, pot, hash, coke, crack, opium, heroin, speed (pills), shrooms, K, G and all the different pills you can name. I'm 30 yrs old and 1st smoked pot at 11. I did crack and coke by age 14. It was like whoopdie do. This is what's destroying America? It never seemed to get a hold on me. I saw what it did to others. I've seen some real horror stories unfold.

The use of crystal meth implies unsafe sexual promiscuity

Crystal meth is here to stay and as it appears its effects have brought to life again the madness and frivolity of the past cocaine decades.
