Cyber Dealers

Many people are unaware of the cyber drug supermarkets that exist on the web today – personally I know of at least 5 websites where you can order anything from (long time illegalised) Cannabis to the high profile and recently illegalised Mephedrone – apparently even Cocaine and Heroin are available to buy in bulk on the web and it comes as no surprise.

As a dealer in order to trade anonymously and behind a technological facade you are mitigating huge risks that often deter people from selling drugs, afterall if you’ve never been in trouble with the police they are unlikely to have either your finger prints or DNA and once something is in the postal system the dealer himself is free from dedection and consequently prosecution. Let’s be honest even if royal mail are to detect an eighth of marijuana addressed to someone in the post there is no way that this would hold up in court as the “victim” would claim negligence. Couple this with a savvy programmer and some high security encoding and I’d say you’d make 10 times as much money (due to national volumes) with just 10% of the risk. For anyone who morally does not have a problem with selling drugs this is certainly the best way to do it – afterall the website that I have used states that it has been running since 2008 which I do not doubt in the slightest.

Although these websites are out there they are of course hidden to the general public, for example if Joe Bloggs were to type in “buy weed online” they could search google for days and would still not be able to find the genuine sites that exist. Strangely and similarly to street dealing these sites work on exactly the same principal – word of mouth. One of the sites that I have used takes just minutes to refer a friend and open their own personal account – they even have a points system whereby you receive points (to go towards your next order) for every transaction that your recommendation makes – somewhat similar to the Sky refer a friend or even the Tesco clubcard. These are in essence businesses and it is clear to see that the brains behind them have set them up as a business trying to offer great service to their customers and completely ignoring the facts of illegality. It was even encouraging to see a memo pasted all over one of the sites that I have used which is that they had stopped selling bulk orders for less due to street dealers selling on their merchandise – at least morally they are doing the right thing.

One argument for these sites’ existence and one that appears to come up on a lot of related forums is that it caters for those who a) do not have the time to be hanging around on street corners waiting for someone half their age to drop to them from their bmx and b) would prefer the security and reliabiltity of some sort of established business. However with the huge amount of sites like these inevitably exisiting one does have to question the postal system – has it just become/is becoming the new method for dealers to trade with their clients anonymously – i’m sure Mr Cameron would not be too happy at the thought that society uses his beloved postal system as a method of anonymous drug dealing rather than just for the (hugely old fashioned) Christmas cards that my grandmother sends to her friends every Christmas. However this appears to be the reality – I would certainly be lying if I said that my friends and I had never used the post to transport narcotics to each other – afterall its the cheapest and safest and turned out to be 100% reliable. Afterall we all knew what to say if anyone came knocking – no one ever did of course!

It is rather compelling to see and something that seasoned weed smokers will have had to deal with their whole life but at least on forums etc this information is protected from the police and anyone who asks for the info is quickly told that there is no way that these websites should or would be available to the general public – I would be extremely surprised if after typing in “buy weed online” you would actually be able to find the web address of any of the genuine “online drug dealers” as it is simple in that anyone who knows about these websites knows that they need to remain secret in order to carry on trading – it would be like ratting out your favourite dealer – you’re the only one losing.

Personally I am rather reluctant to write this article as I can’t see any good coming out of it other than the police honing in on these cyber dealers and slapping on the usual conspiracy, PWIT etc then wasting 50k a year on keeping these entrepreneurs behind bars. However the only thing that I can say is that at least these profits are going to businessmen – as proven by the increased prices of bulk orders on one of the websites I have used these people want to make the profits and keep the money off the streets. I could have completely the wrong end of the stick and for all I know every time an ounce is bought it funds another semi automatic pistol in South East London however I highly doubt it.  What I do know however is that the street dealers dominating the London streets are not compassionate people with human interest at heart – they are part of the gangster culture who idolise gun crime and think that their street cred is based upon the number of dead friends that they have – I know this because I know a lot of them and have done from an early age. Unfortunately we only have ourselves and legislation to blame.
