Hashish Shortage Hits Egypt

Local consumers are no strangers to shortages in basic commodities — be it butagas, bread or diesel — but a dearth of hashish in the last few months is causing some users considerable anxiety.

Afghans lead in hashish production

Afghanistan is known as the world's leading producer of opium. What you probably didn't know is that the Afghans have also taken the lead in hashish production.

In one of his lectures at The College de France on the 30th of January of 1974 Michel Foucault made a reference to the work of a middle XIX century French psychiatrist named Moureau de Tours and his book Du haschisch et de l’alienation mentale. The main relevance of the book was that the author in its pages described the benefits of hashish to treat mental illness after he, himself, had taken a considerable amount of it in jam.

Once years ago I went to Amsterdam on my own for a week, I wanted to see how I would cope with being alone in a foreign city before I embarked on an extended period of travel. I wanted to see whether I could make friends and feel relaxed, I also love smoking weed so chose Amsterdam as the best place to test my social skills.
