Drug Education Campaign in Qujing, China

A new round of an anti-drug campaign among students in Qujing, a small city in Yunan Province in China was kicked off by a solemn vow by 1400 students on September 29, 2011, “ To save our grandparents and parents from tears and for the future of our country, I will become one of the bricks of the Great Wall of drug blocking (a metaphor), preventing drugs from going into the campus!”

Drug advertisements in the Arab world differ considerably from those of the United States and the UK. Because the Arab population is predominately Muslim, the religion is embedded in the culture to a very high degree. Many Arabic advertisements and PSAs deliver a message that is to remind users of how drugs are forbidden in Islam.

British adverts greatly differ from those produced in the United States. “Talk to Frank” is a prominent anti-drug advocacy organization in the UK. The agency produces advertisements, PSAs, and commercials that promote a drug free lifestyle in Britain. Advertisements by Talk to Frank are light hearted and humorous in essence and there is more of a balance between anti-tobacco and hard drug advertisements.
