Yungeno cocaleros march on la Paz
The first caption of the video explains: ‘ On the 22nd and 23rd of September (2008) thousands of coca-growers of the region of Yungas, marched on La Paz demanding justice for the massacre of their colleagues of the Pando region who were killed on 11 September. [The protesters] demanded arrest of Leopoldo Fernandez, ex-governor of the region and warned if necessary, they would be ready to lay siege of the city of Santa Cruz but postponing this action until 15 October. The video is based on interviews of coca-growers , mainly representatives of agricultural groups that took part in the protest. Their focus was on the need for justice and they expressed support for president Evo Morales and his constitutional process. They defended coca-growing as traditional activity.
