Beccy Rawnsley
Beccy Rawnsley is the Executive Director of the UK arm of Law Enforcement Action Partnership - LEAP UK. Beccy has worked in the fields of drug law reform and harm reduction for nearly two decades starting out with the UK branch of NORML and progressing to working with LEAP and Coact amongst others. Her main areas of interest include Drug Consumption Rooms and Diamorphine Assisted Treatment, alongside challenging the barriers to their implementation, using the skills she gained in her MRes and Sociology undergraduate degree to enable her to conduct in depth analyses of policy and statistical data. Her previous experience of high intensity substance use forms a key part of her passion for the reformation of drug laws in the UK and the need to advocate for harm reduction approaches and treatment services, who meet people where they are at, instead of the punitive sanctions which are increasingly applied to people who use drugs.
