Jessica is a PhD researcher at Ulster University, Belfast. Her PhD research is an investigation into drug use among members of the LGBTQ+ communities in Northern Ireland. Previously, Jessica has researched the re-emergence of MDMA in Belfast and the consideration of pleasure and recreational drug use in policy.
Jessica is passionate about reducing drug-related stigma and harms through understanding the reality of drug use. She believes that this can be achieved through recognising the agency of the drug user, and their motivations for use, with a particular focus on the pleasures of drug use.
